Research Program Assistant II

The Parikh Laboratory is seeking a Research Program Assistant II to work collaboratively to develop and test new technical approaches with potential to support glaucoma patient adherence and outcomes. Applicants should have experience with wet lab research and medical device development and testing. Candidates must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, be highly organized and detail oriented, have experience working independently, and work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately in a fast-paced, collaborative academic environment.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Participating in advancing the design of and testing a tonometer designed for at-home use. These lab-based duties will include
- Prototyping and development of at-home tonometer.
- Evaluation of the tonometer on the benchtop and in ex vivo models to optimize and validate device design.
- Work with a diverse group of personnel to plan, conduct, and analyze experiments.
- Contribute to IRB protocols, grant proposals, and manuscripts.
- Careful record keeping of device information and results to guarantee quality of experimentation.
- Troubleshoot technical and experimental issues.
- Use good practices for data record keeping and analysis.
- Collect and summarize data into reports to share with PI and collaborators.
- Prepare necessary documents/protocols for research projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent
- Two years related experience
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
