As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector Base Compute organization, you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge regarding software, applications, and technical processes across multiple technical disciplines. You also have a specialization in a specific domain within infrastructure engineering to drive programs or initiatives consisting of multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, and finding ways to mitigate risk
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
- Manages software engineering in accordance with business requirements' could be a suitable replacement
- Drives results and implements multiple complex programs
- Drives thought leadership within the product line
- Executes work according to compliance standards, risk and security, and business objectives
- Considers upstream/downstream system or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
- Advises junior engineers and technologists
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Extensive experience with software engineering in an enterprise environment with a demonstrated focus on integration with a heterogeneous environment, creating, documenting & automating test harnesses and results, using data to set firmwide technical standards
- Advanced knowledge of distributed systems running either Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server and the underlying hardware and hypervisors
- Knowledge of one or more areas of software engineering such as networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
- Adept in specific software technology and programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Experience translating technical results and requirements to business language and presenting to leadership teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Exposure to managing budgets and experience in Windows Server Clusters.
- Experience in infrastructure virtualization with VMware, Hyper-V, KVM or other hypervisors
- Experience in chaos engineering and testing with tools such as Gremlin
- Experience translating technical results and requirements to business language and presenting to leadership teams
