As a Principal Architect, within the Regulatory, Controls and Operational Risk Technology group, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions.
Job responsibilities:
- Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
- Ensure Architectural Alignment for all software projects align with our organizational goals and technology standards
- Guiding both front-end and back-end engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and practices
- Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others and mitigate delivery and operations risks early in SDLC
- Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design and application development
- Expertise in one or more programming language(s)
- Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and enterprise architecture with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., Controls, risk, cloud, artificial intelligence etc.)
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Demonstrated experience with influencing technical strategy
- Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience in Operational Risk Management function of a financial services institution
- Experience with deploying AI Tools for developers
- Experience working in heavily regulated industry
- Self-starter who can shape rough concepts into refined deliverables and deliverables
