Job Description

As a Database Infrastructure Engineer within our team, you will leverage your expertise in AWS services, database management, and technical processes to enhance our infrastructure engineering discipline. In this role, you will employ your technical skills, knowledge, and problem-solving strategies to address a variety of applications of moderate complexity.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure database infrastructures on AWS Aurora Postgres and SQL server, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database solutions seamlessly within AWS services, driving project success and innovation.
- Develop and optimize scripts and queries using SQL, PowerShell, Python, and Terraform to automate and enhance database operations.
- Learn and apply our in-house Infrastructure as Code language, EaC (Environment as Code), to streamline infrastructure deployment.
- Engage in advanced analytics projects to ingest and analyze performance metrics, providing predictive insights and proactive solutions.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and tuning to address issues such as long-running queries and optimize database efficiency.
- Utilize observability tools like Grafana to monitor, visualize, and improve database performance and reliability.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex database and infrastructure challenges.
- Foster a team-oriented environment with a strong focus on customer service, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and thoroughly.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on AWS concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing, training, and deploying machine learning models.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS services, including provisioning and managing database infrastructure.
- 5+ years proficiency in SQL, PowerShell, Python, and Terraform, with a strong ability to learn and apply new technologies.
- Experience with database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with observability tools like Grafana and other monitoring solutions to enhance database visibility.
- 3+ years of experience developing, training and deploying machine learning models with strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and models suited for time-series analysis and predictive modeling.
- Understanding of code repository concepts and version control systems, with a focus on collaboration and integration.
- Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Proficient in AWS services and cloud architecture, with hands-on experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) to enhance deployment and scalability.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation to understand and preprocess performance metrics.
