As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Infrastructure Platforms Cloud Foundation Services, you are an essential member of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your role involves creating business impact through your skills and contributions, utilizing technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Contribute to the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on cloud software development concepts and proficient advanced experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven experience in software development, with a strong focus on development practices such as Agile, Scrum, or DevOps.
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Java, Python or Go.
- An understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices design.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code to efficiently manage cloud resources.
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Practical cloud experience with Public Clouds such as AWS, Azure or Google.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience of Kubernetes.
- AWS, Azure or Google certification.
- Comfortable working in an environment where pairing and Software Teaming are common practices to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Experience with Spec by Example to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and time zones, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication in a global environment.
- Experience collaborating with architects to align on technical strategies and ensure architectural integrity in software solutions.
