As a Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking , you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way to support the 70K+ employees on our platforms while delivering efficiencies, better planning of workforce and value to the firm. You will be a core technical contributor responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. You will deliver innovative data management solutions using Python and AWS.

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Commercial Banking area, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- Experience leading teams of technologists
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Java or Python with Advanced experience in AWS tools (EKS, ECS, RDS, Dynamo, Lambda, Glue) & infrastructure
- Exhibit excellent presentation skills to clearly convey strategies and the utilization of collaboration tools.
- Service Oriented Architect
- Able to drive large scale software implementations.
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level.
- Experience leading teams of technologists.
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
- Teradata, Data Lakes and AI/ML usage and implementation, design and techniques
