As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Payments - Swift Messaging team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
You will join the SWIFT Team that is responsible for running the suite of critical applications making up JP Morgan’s gateway to the SWIFT financial messaging network. Our secure, high-performance middleware messaging and API applications process millions of messages and trillions of dollars in payments every day and interface with hundreds of internal Line of Business applications allowing them to exchange SWIFT messages with counterparties across the world
Job responsibilities
- Delivers system design, application development, testing, and ensure operational stability, with more than half the time dedicated to coding.
- Demonstrates advanced capability in one or more programming languages and proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
- Utilizes modern development technologies and tools such as Agile, CI/CD, Git, and Jenkins.
- Manages stakeholders effectively, negotiate, influence, and drive meetings to achieve consensus.
- Provides 24x7 production support, diagnose, and resolve technical issues across technologies like WebMethods, RedHat Linux, and Oracle Database.
- Cultivates a deep understanding of applications, technology, and the business, driven by technical curiosity.
- Exhibits proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, and mobile.
- Supports production systems, investigate, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Leads a team of software developers, offering career guidance, support, mentoring, and recruiting new talent.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Possess formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.
- Demonstrate strong experience in test automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Develop highly available middleware messaging applications using IBM MQ and JMS.
- Configure and manage SQL and Oracle databases.
- Work with SWIFT core services, including FIN (ISO 15022), MX (ISO 20022), SWIFT's API Platform, RMA (Relationship Management Agreement), and GPI (Global Payments Initiative).
- Utilize SWIFT products such as Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH).
- Operate effectively in a regulated financial services environment.
- Work with SoftwareAG webMethods.

Experience with cloud technologies.
- Advanced understanding of Software Development Life Cycle , agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Banking domain knowledge with a preference for payment systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading technical development teams for project delivery.
- Culturally sensitive in a role that spans regions and time zones.
