Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Craft clean, maintainable, and optimized code, following established software development best practices. Identify or troubleshoot application code- related issues. Take active role and participate in rigorous code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and maintain high code quality and ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Collaborate with diverse teams to conceptualize, design, and deliver new features. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and evolving software development methodologies to foster continuous learning and improvement. Actively contribute to refining development processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Engineer, IT Consultant, or in a related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Engineer, IT Consultant, or in a related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Using application, data, and infrastructure architecture principles, along with designing and developing complex, distributed systems using microservices architecture; Working with containerization technologies including Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, and cloud platforms including AWS and CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments; Using SQL and NoSQL database technologies and optimization strategies; Using Java and J2EE for building scalable, high-performance server-side applications, leveraging the Spring Framework including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate for microservices development; Designing and implementing RESTful APIs for service-to-service communication, and working with databases including Oracle, MongoDB, and GraphQL; Designing complex user interfaces using ReactJS, Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript, and using HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks for responsive UI development; Building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, automating deployments, and monitoring microservices performance in production environments; Working with tools including Maven for build automation, GIT for source code management, and Splunk for log monitoring and system troubleshooting; Designing automated testing frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, and Jest; Implementing functional, performance, and integration tests, developing automated regression test suites, and creating smoke tests as part of CI/CD pipelines; Collaborating with developers for unit testing and coordinating with product teams for user acceptance testing; and Building and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines, and writing detailed, reusable, and maintainable test cases and scripts that cover edge cases, negative testing, and all functional requirements.
