This role requires deep expertise in US payroll operations, tax compliance, and systems management, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for over 11,000 employees across multiple states.

You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for over 11,000 employees across multiple states.
What You’ll Do:
Payroll Processing & Administration
- Play a key role in accurately and timely processing bi-weekly payroll for over 11,000 U.S. employees, including new hires, terminations, commissions, leaves of absence, retroactive adjustments, and one-time payments.
- Conduct detailed payroll data audits to ensure accuracy and verify that all processed items are properly supported with appropriate documentation.
- Handle multi-state payroll complexities while ensuring compliance with varying state regulations.
- Process stock-based compensation (RSUs, ISOs, ESPPs) and taxable benefits (e.g., commuter programs, gifts).
- Calculate and reconcile termination payments in accordance with applicable laws.
- Partner with HR and internal systems teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure Workday-to-ADP integration accuracy.
- Monitor and apply internal policies and legal requirements to all payroll transactions.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver custom and standard reports and reconciliations for data accuracy.
- Ensure proper documentation of payroll processes, maintaining up-to-date knowledge articles.
- Participate in and support internal/external audits and reconciliations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Support in driving automation initiatives.
- Take ownership of special projects and evolving business needs.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Serve as a trusted partner to internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve payroll issues efficiently.
- Provide expert research and resolution on payroll inquiries, tax discrepancies, and compliance matters.
- Ability to translate complex payroll matters to employees and stakeholders at all levels clearly and confidently.
- Maintain expert knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws as they relate to payroll.
- Ensure accurate application of payroll taxation for compensation and benefits.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on multi-state U.S. payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
- Experience working with U.S. payroll tax law and compliance obligations.
- Experience with Excel (advanced formulas including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF statements).
- Experience with ADP payroll systems, including ADP Smart Compliance.
- Experience with equity compensation programs (e.g., RSUs, ESPP).
- FPC or CPP certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with ADP GlobalView (SAP-based system) and Workday.
