This role will be based in Mountain View, CA.
We are looking for a Sr. Staff Engineer, New Product Introduction (NPI) to lead the technical execution of new hardware platforms that power LinkedIn’s global infrastructure. You will be responsible for guiding products from concept to deployment, ensuring they are manufacturable, scalable, and optimized for performance and cost. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, finance, OxMs, and suppliers to deliver reliable infrastructure at scale.
Responsibilities:
Own technical development of new infrastructure hardware from concept through validation, production, and deployment
Guide hardware designs with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, cost optimization, and supply chain risk mitigation
Partner with cross-functional teams including Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Reliability, Quality, and Manufacturing
Influence early-stage design with supply chain and sourcing teams to improve continuity and minimize risk
Lead prototyping and validation processes to ensure product requirements are met across power, thermal, structural, and reliability dimensions
Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement across the NPI lifecycle
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical and commercial leadership across global teams
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in hardware development, NPI engineering, or system integration
Experience leading complex technical programs in compute, storage, or networking hardware
Experience with DFM and DFX principles, tolerance analysis, and product validation
Experience working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and global production teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
Experience with hyperscale infrastructure or data center environments
Demonstrated ability to work closely with C-level executives, particularly in the OxM and Supplier space, to ensure alignment on NPI roadmaps and best in class pricing/availability
Knowledge of PCBA production and systems integration
Hands-on experience with PLM and change management tools such as Agile or Arena
Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making across engineering, operations, and sourcing
Strong understanding of the infrastructure supply ecosystem and risk mitigation strategies

The pay range for this role is $181,000 to $297,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
