The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.
Team Overview:
The Agent Platform team is building the foundational infrastructure and frameworks that power the next generation of intelligent agents at LinkedIn. Our mission is to accelerate the development and deployment of LLM agents. We're responsible for the underlying orchestration platform that enables long-running, multi-agent workflows at scale, and we're evolving it to support dynamic, cognitive, and personalized agent experiences across key LinkedIn products.
As we scale the platform to support broader adoption, our focus is threefold:
1. Agents Framework - Connecting to open source libraries
2. Cognitive Memory Agent - Multi-agent system to support other agents.
3. Agentic Platform - Distributed AI platform for agents.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Engineer roughly 50% of your time will be devoted to coding, with the other 50% allocated to design and modeling work.
- Write production quality code and influence the next generation of LinkedIn’s system
- Collaborate with other AI and Machine Learning engineers to develop and implement AI Agent frameworks (leveraging open source libraries such as LangChain or LangGraph).
- Contribute to scaling and optimizing AI Agent platforms.
- Create prototypes for new Agentic solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of professional experience in AI, Machine Learning or a related discipline.
- 2+ years experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, etc.
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year(s) of experience working with AI agent (agentic) solutions such as Microsoft AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, Gemini Deep Research, OpenAI Agentic Framework, Anthropic Model Context Protocol, LangChain, LangGraph, etc.
- Published work in academic conferences or industry circles, and/or patents.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Experience working with leading edge solutions that require rapid innovation and agility.

Compensation:
LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $139,000 - $229,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
