What You Will Do
Join the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Organization! We are seeking energetic post baccalaureate students to support the Laboratory's I&T environment. This organization provides direct support to both unclassified and classified mission needs across the Laboratory, as well as technical services for configuration management within LANL computing environments. Our team includes Computing Systems Professionals, Computing Systems Technicians, Cybersecurity Professionals, Data and Solution Architects, IT Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Classification specialists, and additional specialists from the Chief Data Office who focus on data governance, data management, analytics, and enterprise data solutions. Each successful candidate will be provided with a mentor and assigned to a team based on their skills, interests, and the needs of the organization.
For full consideration, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, System Administration, Data Science, or Information Engineering Technology.
Select candidates may be placed with one of the following divisions:

This category applies to those interns who have been awarded a bachelor's degree within the past three years but have not yet been accepted and enrolled in a graduate program. Post-bachelors' interns may remain in this category for up to two years.

Minimum Job Requirements:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management skills, detail oriented, and organized
- Proven experience collaborating effectively within team environments in various projects
- Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cybersecurity
- Mac OS X desktop administration
- Linux desktop administration
- Solving software and hardware issues
- Hardware or software applications
- Desire to learn and build knowledge within the realm of Information and Technology
- Knowledge of or experience with data science, data engineering, or data management workflows
Desired Qualifications:
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills
- Knowledge and/or experience within data analytics
- Knowledge of or experience with data science, data engineering, or data management workflows
- PMP or related Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM, PSPO, or similar)
- Knowledge of /or experience with hardware or software hard drive encryption
- Courses taken or vendor certification (Apple Mac or Microsoft Windows)
