In this role you are a primary technical point of contact for universities in Germany. It is your responsibility to empower researchers and educators to solve their technical and business challenges. You demonstrate the value of MATLAB and Simulink and leverage your insight into academia to paint a vision of how MathWorks fosters success in education and discovery to grow tool adoption in teaching and research and the renewal of campus-wide licensing agreements.

This a temporary position to cover parental leave until end of August 2026.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan and strategize
    Together with the other members of the territory team, you use data-driven account assessments to develop a strategy to engage with the universities in your territory to increase their tool usage and adoption in engineering and science. Jointly with the team, you execute the plan, review your progress, and regularly adapt the plan.

  2. Engage with university customers
    You establish business relationships with university leadership, senior faculty, and individual academics, address their needs and support the integration of our tools in teaching and research. You grow your partners to become MathWorks advocates on-campus. Likewise, you advocate on behalf of your customers and influence the future of MathWorks offerings.

  3. Foster collaboration and enable customer-facing teams.
    Resourcefulness is a must-have for this role. We help you ramp up to be successful and you help enable customer-facing teams at MathWorks to identify and qualify technical customer engagements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in Germany.

Additional Qualifications

  • You hold an engineering degree (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering) or a related field.
  • You have in-depth technical expertise in fields such as control design, physical modeling, or systems engineering.
  • You have first-hand teaching experience as a course instructor or teaching assistant.
  • You have first-hand experience as a researcher or research assistant.
  • You have working experience with MATLAB & Simulink, ideally in a teaching and/or research context.
  • You have experience with and enjoy working with remote teams.
  • You have excellent cross-culture communication skills.
  • Full working proficiency in German and English is required.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
