Senior Application Engineer

Job Summary

Work with MathWorks customers in the Semiconductors, Communications, Aerospace, and Defense industries seeking to improve their development processes with MathWorks RF solutions. Focusing on Wireless Communications (5G) and RADAR applications, while working closely with customers on the integration of RF components and antennas into system-level models, and on the mathematical analysis of RF components, antennas, and antenna arrays. Developing product “proof-of-concept” demonstrations. Build feature-rich product demonstrations providing guidance to customers on how to use MathWorks software to develop and deploy systems that include baseband processing, RF and Analog-Mixed Signal circuitry, and antennas. Design, analyze, and simulate models across diverse applications areas with the main focus being on wireless communications and radar. Use MATLAB, Simulink, RF Blockset, Antenna, Phased Array, and other related toolboxes to model RF impairments and algorithms that mitigate them and include models of the RF propagation environment. Create application examples that use MathWorks and third-party tools to demonstrate workflows to customers. Delivery seminars, make trade show presentations, and publish articles. Collaborate with sales account managers, other technical specialists, and marketing stakeholders at MathWorks in creating and executing overall account and territory sales plans.

Requires travel within the United States and Canada based on company/client need (approximately 30%). May telecommute up to 40%.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements:

Employer will accept a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field and no experience.

Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field and two [2] years of experience in a Senior Application Engineer-related occupation or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field and five [5] years of experience in a Senior Application Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires demonstrable experience with each of the following:

  1. RF transceivers and antenna design such as PAs, LNAs, phased arrays, and matching networks;
  2. Knowledge of RFIC or MMIC design and implementation design flow and process;
  3. Knowledge of RF design tools including: Keysight ADS, SystemVue, or Genesys; and
  4. MATLAB.

Experience may be gained during graduate program. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience. Multiple positions available
