Job Summary
We are seeking an engineer with a strong passion for advancing Model-Based Design (MBD) using MATLAB and related tools to join our Consulting Services team. As the adoption of MBD and automatic code generation continues to expand, the need for technical expertise in deploying MathWorks products—such as Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder, Simulink Design Verifier, and Simulink Test—is growing rapidly. In this role, you will propose technical approaches using our products for enterprise customers and deliver customized solutions for advanced applications. Project engagements range from short-term coaching to long-term, large-scale deployments. Success in this position requires a combination of software engineering skills and domain-specific industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
Take on leadership roles in technically challenging projects as an expert for our customers
- Consulting lead development - Gather customer technical and business requirements and estimate project costs to create consulting service proposals.
- Consulting project management and execution -
- Apply MathWorks software tools to assist clients' projects.
- Interface MathWorks tools with third-party tools and software
- Plan and manage resources to execute projects efficiently.
- Travel as required.
- Consulting sales - Interact with MathWorks sales staff and customers to identify, develop and close high-impact consulting opportunities.
- Consulting strategy - Working closely with worldwide consulting organization, setting and evolving service support strategy in one or more industry/application areas.
- Product development support - Work with product development staff to resolve product issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
- Practical experience in embedded software development using C/C++
- Experience with automatic code generation and build workflows using Simulink / Embedded Coder
- Understand of hardware characteristics such as microcontroller I/O, interrupts, and timers
- Hands-on experience in building and executing Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL) environments
- Effective communication skills in Japanese and English
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to multi-tasks
Nice to have
- Experience with a wide range of MathWorks products
- Experience using static analysis tools such as Polyspace
- Experience in building Hardware-in-the Loop (HIL) environments using Simulink Real-Time
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR and MISRA
- Domain knowledge in Automotive, Aerospace and Defense
