Research Scientist Responsibilities
- Design studies and research experiences that address user behavior and attitudes on Meta’s platforms.
- Generate insights that drive product strategy, policy changes, and design evolutions.
- Conduct research through a wide variety of quantitative methods and a subset of qualitative methods, such as surveys, observations, interviews, and interpret analysis through the lens of data science, social sciences, and user psychology.
- Apply knowledge of experimental and quantitative social science research methodologies to test difficult-to-test hypotheses.
- Leverage data to provide insights about user behavior and to inform business decisions.
- Analyze and draw conclusions from the data collected.
- Communicate the results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a PhD degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Marketing, Political Science, Social Sciences, Information Science, Statistics, or related field
- Position also requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:
- 1. Working with large scale data in multi-method studies
- 2. Survey research: questionnaire design, survey sampling and analysis, and regression modeling
- 3. Experimental design methods
- 4. Statistical analysis using R and Stata
- 5. Quantitative analysis techniques: clustering, regression, and descriptive and inferential statistics
- 6. Collecting and analyzing user behavior data through a variety of channels: semi-formal interviews and observation
- 7. Conducting research using qualitative and quantitative methods
- 8. Presenting qualitative and quantitative results in a creative manner.

$216,890/year to $235,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
