Network Engineering
The Infrastructure Network Engineering team is responsible for the out of band (OOB) and disaster recovery networks that underpin the Meta production IP network. The Infrastructure networks are used: for commissioning of network devices; to provide an out-of-band (OOB) management plane, and; for purposes of disaster recovery and exist in our data center regions, backbone locations, optical locations and peering points of presence. We operate a fully independent global IP network with an emphasis on high availability and speed of deployment. As a principal member of our Network Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing IP connectivity solutions and network designs in close collaboration with partner teams. This includes designing network topologies, selecting industry technologies and protocols, liaising with vendors on feature or product development, and choosing network products and platforms that align with our product needs. In this role, you will champion innovation by bringing new network products to life, from initial concept to a functional and deployed network. You will also be responsible for design and documentation, as well as hands-on experience taking your design from concept through to feasibility in our lab. You are as confident working on backbone networks as you are working with a datacenter environment. We invite those with a passion for innovation, a knack for problem-solving, and a commitment to superb engineering, to join us as we continue to shape the future of connectivity. Do you want to work on one of the most dynamic, fast-paced networks in the world? Do you want to develop innovative solutions to our challenges and ship them into production? Then a role on one of our network engineering teams is for you!
Network Engineer, Infrastructure Networks Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the design and deployment of new network and tooling architectures, setting the direction for future network infrastructure. Evaluate emerging technologies and architectures for integration into existing networks
  • Use data analysis techniques to diagnose and resolve network issues, drive continuous improvement of networks, and develop proactive fault detection methodologies. Foster engineering values within the team, mentor less experienced engineers, and serve as a thought leader in the field of network engineering
  • Develop and drive the team’s technical roadmap, coordinating the work of other engineers on the team and across cross-functional boundaries. Serve as the team’s primary point-of-contact for technical decision-making in the larger organization
  • Debug and resolve the most challenging problems in live environments and act as the primary point of escalation for service incidents. Continuously drive reliability improvements throughout the team and organization
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Over 8 years of relevant work experience in Network Engineering
