Overview

We are seeking a visionary and technically grounded person to help drive the creation and landing of customer value for the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) in Surface Devices. This Technical Program Manager II role is pivotal in shaping and scaling Microsoft’s hybrid AI strategy—bridging the power of edge inferencing with the scale of Azure AI and Copilot.


You will work across Microsoft’s internal ecosystem and externally with partners and enterprise customers to define, articulate, and deliver the business value of hybrid AI. Your mission: make the NPU indispensable by enabling real-world scenarios that matter to developers, IT Pros, and business decision-makers alike.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Fluency in Japanese and English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Responsibilities

  • Define and evangelize the hybrid AI value proposition—Surface NPU + Azure AI + Copilot—as a unified platform.
  • Translate technical capabilities into compelling business narratives that resonate with developers, IT Pros, and enterprise customers.
  • Partner with marketing and field teams to scale messaging and adoption across global markets.
  • Develop strong partnerships with ISVs and customers; Collaborate on hybrid AI solutions that use the NPU in practical settings.
  • Serve as a thought leader at internal and external events, representing Surface in the broader AI ecosystem.
  • Collaborate deeply with Windows AI Foundry, Azure AI (including Azure AI Foundry and Copilot Studio), and Surface engineering teams.
  • Influence product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies through insights from the field and customer feedback.
