We’re hiring a Software Engineer II - DevOps to help deliver intuitive, AI-powered experiences that enable customers to understand work patterns, optimize collaboration, and realize potential by unlocking the full value of Microsoft Copilot. We also use generative AI extensively in our own development process to move fast, learn continuously, and deliver customer value at scale.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing code, scripts, systems, and/or tools that support Infrastructure such as Code and Automation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing and DevOps.
  • 3+ years of experience working on large scale cloud applications.
  • Good technical understanding on .NET Core, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure services, PowerShell, Python, Scala.
  • Demonstrated solid working knowledge on Azure / AWS / GCP / Kubernetes.
  • Solid analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum/Lean Methodology.
  • Evaluate current services and drive performance, availability, and supportability improvements.
  • Drive increased efficiencies through automation and reduction in operational expenditure.
  • Develop test plans/cases, conditions, and scenarios in support of ongoing applications and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, automating build, test, and deployment while integrating AI/ML for predictive diagnostics and intelligent automation.
  • Applies best practices of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and debugging to ensure fast and smooth delivery of software products.
  • Drives efficiency by developing scripts and/or automation and leveraging telemetry data to identify patterns and trends that drive continuous improvement.
  • Build tools/bots and leverage AI to improve developer productivity, contribute ideas to continuously improve our systems, and drive actionable code and product quality feedback.
  • Responsible for the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and/or performance of supported infrastructure and services.
  • Resolves issues with services, minimizes customer impact, and documents solutions that inform ongoing improvements and prevent the recurrence of similar issues.
  • Partners closely with internal customers and engineering teams to conduct root cause analyses, share end-to-end expertise in services, and to mitigate and resolve issues.
  • Adheres to security and compliance standards and works with security and compliance teams to identify and address relevant issues.
