Overview
The Solution Automation team within our Innovation and Acceleration organization is driving Microsoft’s transformation toward scalable, agentic solutions that accelerate customer value delivery. We are seeking a Solution Automation Software Engineer with hands-on experience in Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Apps, and Power Automate to help build and refine automation frameworks, scoring systems, and prioritization models. This role will contribute to the development of intelligent workflows, integrate Copilot capabilities, and operationalize technical feasibility models that guide solution deployment at scale.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, automation, or technical solutioning.
- Proficiency in Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Copilot Studio.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern development frameworks.
Preferred
- Familiarity with OpenAI services and survey-based data modeling.
- Strong understanding of UX and technical complexity modeling.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams focused on scalable solution delivery.
- Software development practices like DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e., Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, GitHub).
- Understanding of AI services, how to leverage them in the composition of modern application infrastructures (OpenAI).
- Competitive landscape. Knowledge of cloud development platforms.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year. Responsibilities
- Develop Intelligent Agents: Create agents and provide guidance for automating prioritized business tasks.
- Extend Platform Capabilities: Enhance Copilot and Azure agents for scalable and reusable solutions.
- Design Automation Frameworks: Build tools and scoring systems to support agent prioritization.
- Implement Smart Workflows: Use Power Platform tools—including Power Apps and Power Automate—to design intelligent workflows.
- Integrate Advanced Solutions: Incorporate Copilot and Copilot Studio into prioritization and testing processes.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams to model customer value and assess technical feasibility.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute to internal testing, iteration, and refinement of prioritization models and backlog scoring.
