Microsoft’s CISO Engineering organization is looking to hire a Senior Technical Product Manager(TPM), to shape the future of security tools that protect Microsoft’s products and customers. This role requires the ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs, balancing technical depth with business impact. You will partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define objectives, align priorities, and deliver outcomes that strengthen security across the company and industry.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience delivering complex, cross-team programs in security, cloud services, or enterprise software.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.
  • Controlled Technology: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in program management, product management, or technical leadership roles.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Proficient written and verbal communication/presentation skills at all levels of the organization, technical and non‐technical.
  • Experience partnering with engineering teams to deliver high-impact results.
  • Experience as a key contributor towards designing, shipping, and operating large-scale, cloud services.
  • Proven project management, leadership, and cross‐group collaboration skills. Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and execute.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end program execution for complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define clear objectives, success metrics, and execution plans that balance technical depth with business impact.
  • Establish and scale program governance frameworks, including risk management, dependency tracking, and communication strategies for executive visibility.
  • Champion process improvements and operational excellence, leveraging data-driven insights to optimize workflows and accelerate delivery.
  • Enable cross-team collaboration, fostering transparency and accountability across diverse technical and business groups.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks proactively, ensuring resilience and adaptability in program plans to meet evolving priorities.
  • You will deliver on roadmap for multiple feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation plan, and manage governance programs.
