Overview
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team!
This is an exciting time to join our group and work on something highly strategic to Microsoft. Microsoft 365 Agents platform provides a mechanism to store the data as well as enable the interactions of agents in a compliant and secure way. This team builds a suite of microservices to get near real-time insights over agent data in Microsoft 365 Agents. You will be a part of a team of engineers who thrive on solving complex problems at scale while doing it with impeccable quality.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ years' of hands on experience with generative AI OR LLM (Large Language Models)/ML (Machine Learning)
Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Master's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our software components and services.
- Lead initiatives to deliver complex features, substantially improve product quality, and transform operations within the team.
- Pioneer the use state-of-the-art new technologies.
- Lead code reviews to ensure all quality standards are met and by modeling best practices.
- Work with Product Managers, Architects and UX Designers to design and specify new features from the engineering standpoint.
- Develop software that empowers customers to optimize their business processes.
- Identify need for internal tools that improve the teams’ quality and productivity, and lead their implementation.
