The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, an organization within CE&S, is leading the effort to enable customer success on the Microsoft Cloud by harnessing leading, AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to deliver innovation solutions that accelerate business value, drive operational excellence and nurture long term loyalty.


We are seeking a Security Cloud Solution Architect - Manager with experience in a senior management role, who has led enterprise-level security teams and contributed to security strategy and innovation within complex organisations. The candidate should demonstrate technical proficiency, operational effectiveness, business understanding, and experience delivering security transformations.


They will manage a team of Americas Security Architects in a customer-facing role, overseeing security relationships and strategy between customers, Microsoft security field teams and Security Product Group (PG)/Engineering (Eng). The team handles all aspects of security engagements from architecture review to escalation management, liaising with PG and Engineering contributing to product improvement and roadmap. In this role, the candidate will have experience building technical, customer-facing security teams.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Skills

  • 6+ Years Experience in Security technical sales, customer success, engineering, or consultative delivery.
  • 5+ Years Experience in people management and building and leading high performing teams
  • Experience in driving change management, transformation, and technical adoption.
  • Key to success - Collaboration. Ability to generate trust, build alliances, and orchestrate interdisciplinary teams to the benefit of customers.
  • Communication. Thought leader with executive presence, including the ability to hold CISO level discussions, exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals (threat landscape, attacker techniques, defense strategies)
  • Proven ability to map the customer’s needs to technical solutions.
  • Technical understanding of Microsoft Security Solutions and of competitors.
  • Empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve, acquire new skills and drive for results.
  • Able to quickly resolve customer escalations by coordinating appropriate resources as needed.
  • Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Microsoft Security architecture, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or equivalent
  • Technical Certification in Cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, security certifications)
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role
  • Experience leading technical projects, teams, or functions

Technical Skills

  • Breadth of knowledge across Microsoft Cloud security domains– SIEM & XDR, Purview- Data Security. Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, and Identity – Mandated Expertise/experience focused on:
    • Microsoft Sentinel
    • Microsoft Defender For Cloud (MDC)
    • Defender for Endpoint (MDE
    • Defender for Office (MDO)
    • Defender for Identity (MDI)
    • Defender for Applications
    • Purview Data Security – aka Loss Prevention (DLP), Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and Information Rights Management (IRM)
    • Identity- Entra ID
  • Breadth of technical security experience and knowledge, with depth and Subject Matter Expertise in one or more of the following domains:
    • SIEM and Cloud Security Analytics
    • Security Operations Center (SOC)
    • Extended Detection and Response (XDR)
    • Data Security – Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection and Information Rights Management (IRM)
    • Identity

Cloud Solution Architecture M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in achieving both customer objectives and Microsoft business targets. Guide the team to deliver positive customer success and satisfaction and coach members to become trusted advisors by leveraging expertise across the Microsoft Security Portfolio.
  • Guide the team to understand both field and customer objectives, demonstrating how Unified accelerates value realization. Support the team in driving positive customer satisfaction and communicate valuable feedback and insights from customers
  • Guide the team in identifying and cultivating opportunities that advance Customer Success business objectives by engaging with technical decision makers. Ensure they comprehend Microsoft’s security value proposition and realize the benefits of their investment in Microsoft technology through thorough knowledge of security solutions and customer scenarios.
  • Coach the team to identify resolutions to technical blockers to “go-live” of customer success engagements by leveraging strong security technical subject matter expertise and existing relationships with MS engineering, product management, and security research group.
  • Support the team to lead technical conversations with customers to drive value from their Microsoft (MS) investments, by delivering all work according to MS best practices and policies and using repeatable Intellectual Property (IP)/ Value based deliverables (VBDs)
  • Foster a culture of continuous self-learning and drive technical intensity, driving team to enable customers to realize desired business outcomes, including innovation. Model impactful community engagements and coach team to contribute to repeatable IP/ VBDs
  • Utilize strategic insights to enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) and promote operational efficiency. Provide coaching to the team on situational fluency and interpersonal adaptability by analyzing customer behavior, understanding the situation, "reading the room", assessing circumstances, interpreting group dynamics, and responding appropriately. Guide teams in determining how and when to adjust customer or internal communications in response to observed environmental cues.
  • Leverage the breadth of your technical experience and knowledge in foundational security, foundational AI, architecture design, with depth Subject Matter Expertise in security to deliver the end-to-end security story for Microsoft, highlighting the value proposition using your experience in security and expertise around related technologies and concepts such as Zero Trust, threat management, Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) / Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), and Extended Detection & Response (XDR) + SIEM, Cloud Security, Data Security and Identity
