Overview

Windows Forms (WinForms) is a UI framework for building desktop applications on Windows, enabling developers to create reliable, scalable enterprise solutions for more than twenty years. The WinForms team works directly with the global developer community through our open-source repo, keeping WinForms modern and relevant by incorporating new Windows and .NET features.

We use Azure DevOps, GitHub, and C#. Our team is all-in with AI: we use it to build new features in WinForms, improve our own workflows, and help customers bring AI into their applications. As part of CoreAI’s Developer Division, we focus on strong fundamentals, security, and delivering modern solutions for our customers with an AI-first mindset.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, VB.NET etc.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in windows desktop application development.
  • 6+ months of experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, or similar) to enhance productivity and code quality.

Other Requirements:

  • The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, VB.NET etc. n OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, VB.NET etc.
    • OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience applying AI technologies (such as large language models or code generation tools) in software development workflows, including tasks like static analysis, automated documentation, or test generation.
  • 1+ years of experience with Experience in COM components and Native DLLs
  • Experience building and deploying services to Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Experience with containerization and DevOps tools/processes.
  • Experience building developer tools, such as extensions for Visual Studio or VS Code.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Work hands-on with users: Own end-to-end features and collaborate directly with customers to deliver solutions that address real-world needs.
  • Drive WinForms releases: Oversee release pipelines, build automation, and testing infrastructure for WinForms. Ensure high quality, reliability, and strong fundamentals in every release:
    • Build & release automation pipelines
    • Functional & performance testing infrastructure
    • Compliance and security maintenance
  • Leverage AI for productivity: Enhance developer productivity, automate workflows, and improve insight, such as integrating AI-assisted troubleshooting, intelligent build orchestration, or smart test selection.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work closely with product teams in DevDiv and 1ES to deliver up-to-date solutions that improve velocity and confidence. Understand pain points and deliver the best experience for them.
  • Participate in agile practices: Engage in code reviews and design discussions, contributing to a culture of technical depth, learning, and mentorship.
