Overview

Dynamics 365 is Microsoft’s suite of enterprise software that power many of the largest businesses in the world. The Customer Experience Applications Team delivers Dynamics 365 Contact Center, an AI-first solution that lets our customers run intelligent and highly scalable contact centers. We are building the next generation of our applications running on Azure that pull together Dynamics 365, Office 365 and a number of other Microsoft cloud services to deliver high value, complete, and predictive application scenarios across all devices and form factors.

D365 Contact Center enhances Dynamics 365 Customer Service by enabling instant customer engagement through channels like Live Chat, Voice, and SMS. As a Software Engineer II on the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Experience Applications team, you’ll design and implement Dynamics 365 solutions, choose the right technical architecture, and collaborate with business leaders and partners. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience proven ability to deliver secure, compliant, and customer-focused solutions aligned with Zero Trust principles.
  • 2+ years of experience coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on reliability, scalability and performance.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Full Stack development experience, with the ability to design, build, and maintain both front-end and back-end systems end to end.
  • Proficiency with React and modern front-end frameworks, coupled with experience in C#/.NET, Java, or Node.js for back-end services.
  • Deep understanding of REST and gRPC for developing and debugging distributed systems and APIs.
  • Experience building and managing infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Proven team player and collaborator, able to work effectively across time zones and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated passion for software quality, engineering excellence, and delivering secure, scalable solutions.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer II on the Microsoft team you will:

  • Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to plan, build, and deliver customer-focused features that drive measurable business impact.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and observable services emphasizing performance, maintainability, and operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize reliability, performance, and monitoring across production systems to ensure high availability and quality.
  • Use AI-assisted tools and modern development frameworks to increase engineering velocity and integrate intelligent capabilities into products.
  • Contribute to engineering excellence through clean, maintainable code, design and code reviews, and technical mentorship.
  • Develop top-in-class software components that are modular, secure, diagnosable, and reusable across the Dynamics 365 ecosystem.
