Overview

We are seeking a Senior Director of Narrative & Storytelling - Security Portfolio to define and lead how the world experiences Microsoft Security. In this role, you will also be responsible for building, managing, and inspiring a thriving, high-performing team of frontier marketers and storytellers.

This leader will shape the storytelling framework, hero content, and technical demonstrations that bring our security vision to life across global campaigns, events, and executive moments. This leader will connect Microsoft’s security products—Entra, Purview, Defender, Sentinel, Intune, and Security Copilot—into a cohesive and inspiring story. You’ll translate technical innovation into human, emotionally resonant content and experiences that elevate Microsoft’s brand and drive customer trust.

This role is part cybersecurity technologist, part communicator, part marketer, and enjoys working across complex organization matrixes to drive clarity, distill insights, communicate clearly, tell beautiful stories.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in product marketing or marketing communications in cybersecurity and/or cloud services
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing or marketing communications in cybersecurity and/or cloud services
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • 6+ years experience developing unified narratives, keynotes, and demos across multiple products or solutions for cloud or enterprise technologies.
  • Experience working successfully cross functionally at a global scale.
  • Experience developing storytelling for technical solutions/products.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in product marketing or marketing communications in cybersecurity and/or cloud services
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 15+ years experience in product marketing or marketing communications in cybersecurity and/or cloud services
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years people management experience.
  • 8+ years experience leading brand, marketing communications, or corporate marketing teams at a leading cloud or cybersecurity company.
  • Experience developing narratives and content for executives at a Fortune 500 technology company.

Product Marketing M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve the core storytelling, content architecture, and brand architecture for the Microsoft Security portfolio.
  • Lead creation of technical demos, hero content, and executive storytelling for major events and campaigns.
  • Translate complex product capabilities into compelling, accessible stories for customers and partners.
  • Partner across Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Brand, and Communications, to ensure narrative alignment.
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing team of storytellers, demo producers, and content strategists.
