As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will play a crucial role in building solutions for PubCenter that streamline publisher onboarding, ensure publisher quality verification, and provide comprehensive revenue and quality reports. Additionally, you’ll work to deliver top-quality ads to our publishers. Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

- 4+ years' experience in building and maintaining reliable and scalable services/platforms
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years solid experience in building and maintaining reliable and scalable services/platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and familiarity with its suite of tools for effective collaboration and delivery.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and event driven architectures.
- Experience on production scale distributed systems
- Comfort in dealing with and navigating ambiguity.
- Willingness to be hands-on and learn new technologies and domain.
- Excellent coding skills, solid in OOPS, OOAD, design patterns and their application.
- Solid with Microsoft .NET technologies (C# and the .NET Framework).
- Ability to both work independently and coordinate across geographies.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts to a variety of cross-group stakeholders.
- Solid organization skills, a bias for action, and ability to deliver results.
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and drive for clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, ramp quickly, and meet demanding deadlines.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
- Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Provides hands-on guidance and mentorship to engineers through design, code reviews, and pairing.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
- Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
