The Azure Compute Organization is responsible for creating the foundation of Microsoft’s Cloud Platform responsible for providing hardware management, virtualized computational substrate, and fully automated service management.
As features of Azure keep growing, the scale and complexity of cloud also crosses new boundaries, there is opportunity to re-think how we can identify the root cause of any Azure platform issues in a smart and efficient way. Our team is hiring a Software Engineer to help build a system that autonomously learns the entire Azure platform by enabling standardized information exchange between interconnected components. This role involves leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as deep learning, anomaly detection, and auto-learning to create a faster, more efficient, and robust self-recovering platform.

Responsibilities
- Contributes to the design and implementation of microservices that support scalable and performant solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Develops and maintains features across services and platforms with a focus on quality and reliability.
- Applies software engineering best practices to ensure maintainable and secure code.
- Collaborates with team members to plan and deliver on assigned tasks and features.
- Participates in a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Actively seeks feedback and mentorship to grow technical and collaboration skills.
- Learns from peers, projects, and customer feedback to improve contributions and understanding.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python,
- OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C# or Python,
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C# or Python,
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with .NET, vibe coding, Azure Cloud, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and/or Azure Resource Manager.
Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $84,200 - $165,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
