The Windows Ecosystem and Commercial Engagement team (WECE) plays a pivotal role in advancing Microsoft’s strategic priorities across the Windows ecosystem. At the heart of what we do is to connect partners, customers, and internal teams to ensure that Windows continues to deliver value and innovation. WECE Hardware Engineering Enablement(HEE) focus on integrating modern hardware features into Windows and providing toolkits that drive device quality and performance across the ecosystem.
The WECE HEE China team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to collaborate closely with China Ecosystem ODM partners (Luxshare, Huaqin, Longcheer, etc.) on 'Hero Devices' enablement, issue triage, and analysis. This role involves helping partners adopt new Windows features and optimizing their Hero devices' power performance and manufacturing processes through local engineering activities. You will ensure these devices meet quality criteria (e.g., HWV, CER) by working closely with ecosystem partners to deliver Windows new features and experiences. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work across teams to analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, aiming to deliver 'Apple compete' hero devices.
Responsibilities
- Co-engineering with ODM, OEM and silicon partner for hero device enablement and issue triage & analysis.
- Power & performance optimization for best-in-class energy efficiency and performance.
- Manufacturing enablement and optimization on ODM's production lines to meet MSFT requirements (including OA3, Security Boot Enablement, LCU+AI models preload etc.).
- Expedite the new features/portfolio enablement to well align Windows roadmap, through local engineering support.
- Deliver and maintain 'know-how' or 'guidence' for other local ODMs' scale out .
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree(Master degree is preferred) in computer science, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of software engineering experience, with solid knowledge on Windows Kernal, driver framework, and UEFI architecture.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially for Windows debugging.
- Strong proficiency in manufacturing enablement, debugging, and engineering optimization.
- Expertise in Windows devices power and performance log analysis.
- Proven ability to work effectively with ODM, OEM, and SoC partners.
- Working experience in new feature/portfolio enablement is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for knowledge transfer and guidance delivery.
