Overview

We’re building a Frontier Marketing organization where the Media Data Science & Analytics team leads the way in transforming how Microsoft measures, analyzes, and optimizes media and digital experiences. Our team blends advanced analytics, experimentation, and Artificial Intelligence powered insights to drive smarter decisionmaking and measurable business outcomes across paid media and owned digital properties. We operate with agility, prioritize outcomes over activity, and embrace rapid learning loops to unlock deeper audience understanding, maximize impact, and accelerate innovation in media and discovery strategy. To support this transformation, we are seeking a Data Analyst to partner closely with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), web experience, and eCommerce teams. Responsibilities

Apply advanced analytics to explain how users discover Microsoft brands, products, and experiences through traditional organic search (e.g., Google Search) and emerging AI-driven discovery channels (e.g., Microsoft Copilot). Analyze acquisition and onsite behavior data to connect traffic sources to engagement, conversion, and experience quality. Identify and quantify drivers of performance change, including product or content launches, technical factors, seasonal patterns, and external events. Integrate multiple data sources and evaluate data quality, limitations, and tradeoffs to ensure trustworthy insights. Deliver clear, decisionready analyses through recurring readouts and deepdive investigations. Partner crossfunctionally with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), engineering, and content teams to prioritize improvements grounded in data.



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Adobe analytics or similiar tool.
  • Experience querying and analyzing large datasets using SQL. Experience integrating data from multiple sources and validating data quality.
  • Experience communicating analytical insights to stakeholders to inform decisions.
  • Experience supporting SEO and web marketing measurement.
  • Experience building dashboards or reusable reporting assets.
  • Experience using Python or similar tools for analysis or automation. Familiarity with experimentation or attribution concepts.

Data Analytics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
