Overview

Microsoft Edge Mobile is the mobile version of the Microsoft Edge browser, designed to deliver a seamless and efficient browsing experience on smartphones and tablets. Leveraging the robust features of its desktop counterpart, Edge Mobile ensures users have access to their favorite sites, bookmarks, and settings across devices. Our goal is to provide a consistent, high-quality browsing experience that matches the capabilities of the desktop version while being specifically optimized for mobile devices.

The Microsoft Edge Commercial Mobile Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Edge Browser who is passionate about building a customizable, secure, and delightful browser for managed enterprise scenarios.

As a part of our team, you will work to improve the Edge mobile product for our business customers and earn their trust. You’ll work in a variety of codebases and have a chance to collaborate with numerous partner teams and S500 customers to solve their problems. This is an opportunity to work on a modern codebase with a fast iteration loop. You will get a chance to work in several languages, including portable C++, Java, Objective-C, Swift, and JavaScript. You will need to collaborate with many Microsoft business features and infrastructures, such as Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID and authentication libraries, and Microsoft Tunnel, to name just a few.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.



Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure mobile applications.
  • Drive the technical strategy and architecture for mobile applications for iOS.
  • Work with numerous partner teams and S500 customers to solve their problems.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends across mobile and web technologies.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in C/C++, Objective-C, or modern programming languages with solid engineering skills.
  • 5+ years of mobile engineering experience in iOS (Objective-C/Swift).
  • 5+ years of experience in building commercial software.
  • 5+ years of experience in API design, data structures, design patterns, and asynchronous programming.
  • 3+ years of experience in architecture design.
  • A solid understanding of the mobile industry.
  • Proficient in English, both in writing and reading.
