Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Microsoft Store app team within the Windows + Devices organization in Redmond. In this role, you will drive AI-powered innovation, contribute to client infrastructure and feature flighting, and help elevate Store Fundamentals. You will play a key role in shaping the future of the Microsoft Store by delivering seamless, high-quality experiences to users worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality client-side features, infrastructure, and AI-powered experiences for the Microsoft Store.
  • Drive end-to-end execution of key initiatives, from architecture and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, designers, service engineers, and data engineers to deliver impactful, customer-focused solutions.
  • Apply and advocate for engineering best practices to improve performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, using data and telemetry to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning through technical leadership and knowledge sharing.
  • Enhance Microsoft Store Fundamentals to ensure a seamless, intuitive, and high-quality user experience.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Solid background in software engineering, with expertise in languages such as C#, C++, XAML, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Proven experience in solving complex technical challenges and building full-stack solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Store ecosystem and related technologies.
  • Expertise in native Windows development (WPF, UWP, or WinUI).

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
