We are looking for a Global Capital Markets professional focussed on Ratings Advisory to join our Global Center in Mumbai. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing deal execution support, conducting research and analytics, and providing internal process support to Ratings Advisory teams.

You will receive variety of trainings covering financial analysis, business presentations, and practical skills. At the end of training, you will be able to understand financial concepts and have a strong understanding of the Morgan Stanley culture. In this role, you will gain exposure to financial markets and macro trends, build knowledge of banking and capital markets sectors and products, and work with bankers in core locations. High performers will be eligible for internal mobility opportunities globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support ratings analysis and notching assessments, including application of LGD and recovery models in line with agency methodologies.

  • Prepare client and internal presentation materials by extracting, synthesizing, and summarizing analysis from rating agency reports.

  • Conduct in‑depth research from rating agency reports, criteria, and published commentary to support issuer analysis and transaction execution.

  • Build and maintain peer comparables and comp tables, including tracking rating actions (upgrades/downgrades), key financial metrics, and reconciling outputs against agency reports and reconciliation files.

  • Perform financial spreading and normalization to support ratings analysis, peer benchmarking, and issuer positioning.

  • Manage agency data workflows, including agency report pulls, preparation and maintenance of agency reconciliation files, and ongoing data hygiene.

  • Prepare rating analyst bios and coverage summaries for new issuers to support agency engagement and onboarding.

  • Assist with rating agency coordination, including scheduling agency meetings and attending rating‑related sync calls (where permitted) to build understanding of agency analysis and decision frameworks.

  • Prepare credit considerations and perform ratio analysis in line with rating agency methodologies for respective industry/ sector

Skills and qualifications

  • MBA / CA / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • 2 – 5 years of work experience in related field

  • Keen interest in corporate finance / Debt Capital Markets / Ratings Advisory

  • Written competency and spoken language fluency in English

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with global teams

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and are at ease with financial data

  • Agility and ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Team player with a strong work ethic and motivation to learn

  • Ability to manage expectations and handle high-pressure situations

  • Proficiency in leveraging S&P Global, Moody’s, and Fitch Ratings platforms to support ratings advisory, transaction structuring, and issuer positioning

  • Hands‑on experience supporting ratings advisory workflows, including preparation of rating materials, agency interaction and methodology review

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Programming and coding experience / knowledge of AI tools is encouraged
