As part of Reinsurance Accounting, the Global Process Owner (GPO) division is responsible for maintaining and developing the global processes, methods and systems for technical accounting & claims handling. Our goal is to ensure operational excellence and the timely availability of accurate and consistent business data for steering, analytics and closing.

Within this division, our team develops, implements, and manages small to medium-scale automation solutions for accounting and claims handling processes. We work with state-of-the-art tools and collaborate closely with the business department. Our projects include developing tools for advanced quality assurance and credit control processes as well as optimizing the intake processes of our client data.

Your internship should ideally start June or July 2025 for 5-6 months.

Your Job

  • Participate in global automation initiatives in the reinsurance accounting unit, focusing on quality assurance and business process automation
  • Analyze reinsurance accounting data from SAP HANA, mainly using SQL and R
  • Visualize datasets in tools such as Microsoft Power Platform or R Shiny
  • Analyze our client data and implement VBA or Power Query solutions
  • Support the setup and migration of cloud solutions
  • Collaborate with colleagues from our international offices on a regular basis

Your Profile

  • Currently studying in information technology, computer science, data science, business analytics, mathematics or related fields, a completed bachelor degree is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL and R
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Power Platform and/or R Shiny is an advantage
  • Familiar with database management and cloud applications (Azure)
  • Prior experience with Microsoft VBA and Power Query
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, positive and proactive attitude with team spirit
  • Ability to grasp new topics quickly
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
