Within the central division Claims, comprising all non-life claims operations globally, our department drives the digitalization as a crucial enabler of our new Claims Ambition2025+. The team is responsible for the definition and execution of our Claims systems, data, reporting and analytics/AI strategy.
In this mission, we want to provide data-driven claims insights to all Underwriting and Client Management stakeholders for our joint business success for non-life Reinsurance segment in close collaboration with our central Analytics, Underwriting and Claims business units.
The advertised position within the analytics sub team focuses on realizing AI use cases with a strong focus on unstructured data. This includes retraining and enhancements to productive machine learning models, development of new AI solutions and PoCs together with internal and external data scientists as well as integration of GenAI solutions and the corresponding prompt engineering into operative processes.
Your Job
- Contribute to Munich Re wide data strategy initiatives by developing a long term pipeline of AI and GenAI supported use cases
- Analyze, structure and extract information out of unstructured documents by means of predictive and generative methods
- Perform data analysis to discover data patterns, understand, visualize and summarize the data, estimate the quality and discover anomalies
- Contribute to the processing pipeline of unstructured documents and data
- Have a close loop with operative colleagues to discuss insights and generate ideas for further improvement
- Take ownership and drive analytic topics in agile project teams to support the business and generate insights
Your Profile
- University degree in data science, computer science, computer linguistic, statistics, or a similar qualification
- Experience with supervised and unsupervised text mining and NLP methods and building of preprocessing pipelines for unstructured data
- Practical experience in wrangling heterogeneous and complex data and motivation to understand the underlying business and generating impact
- Broad knowledge of analytical and statistical methods combined with practical experience and the willingness to continuously improve
- Practical experience with Azure Cloud components, especially Databricks (incl. Delta tables and Unity Catalogue), Azure Storage, Azure Search
- Versed in Python, Spark and SQL
- Experience with explainable AI, responsible AI and AI ethics especially in regards to the EU AI Act is a plus
- Team player especially in agile project set-ups and used to collaborate with GIT or similar version control tools
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues across the departments and with different levels of seniority
- Very high level of motivation paired with the capacity to take responsibility and work independently
- Very good written and spoken German and English and ability to explain complex problems to a heterogenous audience
- Experience in (re)insurance, ideally in Claims or Underwriting of advantage
- Experience as Product Owner or Project Manager is a plus
