National Center for Women & Information Technology works to correct the imbalance of gender diversity in technology and computing. It is a non-profit community of more than 500 prominent corporations, academic institutions, government agencies, and non-profits working to increase women's participation in technology and computing. NCWIT helps organizations recruit, retain, and advance women from K-12 and higher education through industry and entrepreneurial careers by providing community, evidence, and action. NCWIT, which is housed in the Roser ATLAS building, was co-founded by ATLAS along with Lucy Sanders, who has worked in research and development as well as executive positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Lucent Bell Labs, and Avaya Labs.
