| Position Highlights | The He Lab in the Department of Basic Medical Science seeks candidates for a postdoctoral position. The broad goal of our research program is to understand 1) the development of insulin resistance and increased liver glucose production, that contributes to hyperglycemia in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes; 2) the impairment of mitochondrial dynamics/activity and the importance in causing liver steatosis; 3) the molecular mechanism underlying trans-generational obesity. To address these questions, we use molecular and cellular biological technology, combining knockout and knock-in mouse models. Ideal candidates will have a MD and/or PhD in biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition. The position is part of a well-funded research program and will provide the opportunity to produce high-impact publications and establish an independent record of grant funding. The candidate will be mentored in career development. This position is eligible for visa sponsorship. Outstanding U of A benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; U of A/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to U of A recreation and cultural activities; and more! | Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report | In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures. Paper copies of the Reports can be obtained by contacting the University Compliance Office at cleryact@arizona.edu. |
