Job Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer expected to lead the design and development of the features that are part of the team’s deliverable. Lead the team on projects involving development of new features, sustenance, handling engineering escalations.
Participate in all phases of product development cycle: from product definition and design, through implementation, debugging, testing and early customer support as needed. Work with Partner teams on the software engineering activities for the deliverables to assess and resolve inbound/outbound dependencies. Expected to work independently and technically lead the software engineering activities for the team.
Job Requirements
- Strong coding & debugging skills on at-least C/C++.
- System/Kernel programming, Experience with Filesystems or Networking or file/cloud protocols is a must.
- In depth knowledge of Unix/Linux System Programming, Multithreaded programming
- Virtualization experience is a plus
- Experience on Storage and cloud technologies is a plus
- Proven track record of technically leading end-to-end mid to large sized projects
- This position requires an individual to be creative, team-oriented, a quick learner and driven to produce results.
- Responsible for providing support in the development and testing activities of other engineers that involve several inter-dependencies.
- Participate in technical discussions within the team and with other groups within Business Units associated with specified projects.
- Willing to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department and company goals.
- A strong understanding and experience with concepts related to computer architecture, OS internals, data structures and programming practices.
Education
- Typically requires a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
