Job Summary
The Trade Compliance Analyst, EMEA, will be an integral part of NetApp’s Global Trade Compliance (GTC) team, supporting compliance activities across the EMEA region and as part of a team of EMEA/APAC Trade Compliance Analysts. In this role, you will collaborate closely with GTC team members in other regions to ensure the effective implementation of NetApp’s Global Trade Compliance program. As a Trade Compliance Analyst, you will contribute to the development, modification, and execution of procedures related to export and import compliance regimes in the EU and the greater EMEA region, consistent with United States and other international regimes
In this position, you will engage with internal and external partner organizations; manage export licensing of products and technical data; accomplish customer or transaction screenings such as restricted party list reviews; contribute to export/import compliance awareness training; maintain compliance procedures; conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with U.S., EU and other applicable global regulations; and complete any other activity required to progress the trade compliance function within NetApp.
Job Requirements
• Familiarity with EMEA export controls; customs compliance experience a plus; knowledge of global trade compliance regulations in countries outside of the EU a plus.
• Previous experience with export controls related to controlled dual-use goods from the EU to non-EU jurisdictions.
• Experience with Category 5 products.
• Understanding of regulations applicable to export licensing.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; fluency in English.
• Ability to exercise judgement, determine actions within defined procedures, contribute to analysis and problem-solving, and negotiate to solution.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, including dealing with complex and sensitive matters.
Responsibility and Interaction:
• Assist in developing and executing NetApp’s global trade program among a global team that is currently based in the United States, India, the Netherlands and Singapore.
• Collaborate across the broader team to drive the continuous improvement of the Company’s GTC Program, including automating processes and procedures.
• Collaborate globally with Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, IT, Tax, Finance, Engineering, etc. to execute on defined procedures and resolve mutual problems.
• Complete export license requests, audits, and reports to authorities in Ireland; interface with those authorities on an as-needed basis.
• Monitor regulatory changes and work at the direction of leadership to modify compliance policies and procedures in accordance with changing legal framework and business models.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree required; 2 years of relevant experience in customs and export roles.
• Fluency in languages other than English a plus.
• Knowledge of Global Trade Compliance processes; may include background in customs/export classification, licensing, valuation, country of origin, screening, or other relevant processes.
• Prior experience working in trade compliance programs in large, global tech companies is a plus.
