Job Summary

As an Information Systems Engineer 3, you will collaborate with a team to design and implement Datacenter solutions that support NetApp’s various functional areas. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to understand and address customer needs, as well as develop effective implementation plans.

Job Requirements

The Infrastructure System Engineer is accountable for the implementation and management of diverse infrastructure services. Primary responsibilities include conducting proof of concepts, assessing outcomes, and preparing business use cases and reports for evaluated and deployed tools.
Datacenter System Engineering requires expertise in one of the technologies such as K8s, Unix/Linux, or Storage, along with hands-on automation using Python or other scripting languages.
• Design, deploy, scale, and manage Kubernetes clusters (preferably OpenShift).
• Strong experience in Storage / Linux system administration.
• Proficient in scripting/programming (Python, Go, Bash).
• Experience with centralized infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
• Skilled in config management tools like Puppet and Ansible for datacenter service implementation and support.
• Ensure system performance, availability, and reliability.
• Monitor resource usage, trends, costs, and capacity for reporting.
• Document processes and train operations team members.
• Cloud migration and solution design experience is a plus.
• Ability to respond on short notice to urgent business issues.
• Keep informed of emerging and developing technologies in Information Technology, with a focus on System Architect strategies.
• Interface with various stakeholders (i.e.: Project Managers, Client Delivery Managers, Network Designers & Architects, etc.) regarding projects, implementation, and operational issues.
• Adhere to Incident management and change management procedures. Manage and report time accurately as per assignments.
• Plan, design, implement, and lead application installation projects or operating process.
• Reporting to management on status, resource needs, and project status.
Requirements:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other Information Systems Engineering team members to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well.
• Excellent aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment.
• Ability to follow standard datacenter infrastructure principles and practices.
• Creative approach to problem solving.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.

Education

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience is required; 4 to 8 years of experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related field is required, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
