Job Summary

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager for the Core Software Engineering group, you will drive engineering projects and development support by collaborating with cross-functional teams across NetApp, including our partners in Cloud Storage and AI. You will direct the activities of software systems development and quality assurance functions to build and maintain solutions in ONTAP. You will impact the planning, execution, and delivery of parallel projects, enabling NetApp customers to embrace our Enterprise, Cloud, and AI solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Manage cross-functional projects involving multiple teams to deliver software-defined storage solutions.
  • Coordinate execution across diverse groups to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive organizational and cultural change across the team.
  • Identify, develop, and grow leaders within the organization.
  • Build and sustain high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Align teams to core company values.
  • Create, influence, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure effective execution of long-term plans and business objectives.
  • Make decisions with significant operational or financial implications.
  • Optimize processes, resources, and outcomes for efficiency.
  • Apply deep domain expertise to solve complex technical or business issues.
  • Develop medium- and long-range plans to address challenges.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, from individual contributors to vice presidents.
  • Work effectively across different functions and business units.
  • Partner with support teams to resolve escalations efficiently.
  • Interface with customers and partners to understand issues and drive solutions.

Education

  • 12–18 years of overall industry experience in software development, cloud, or storage technologies (adjustable based on the role level).
  • 6+ years of experience as a Manager, leading engineering or cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through the full software development life cycle.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional groups (Development, QA, Automation).
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with shifting priorities.
