Job Summary
NetApp’s Hybrid Cloud organization is looking to fill a role in its Product Pricing team. The Product Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the pricing and discounting strategies for the NetApp family of products. The Pricing Manager will ensure that the implanted strategies align with product positioning, competitive offerings, business unit margin objectives, and any specific geographic objectives. In this role, you will help drive business and strategy decisions with your superb analytics, business modeling and market research skills.
Job Responsibilities
- As the Pricing Manager, you will work as part of a team focused on defining and implementing pricing strategies for new products through value-based pricing and market-based competitive analysis. The successful candidate will own end-to-end pricing strategy, will build pricing models, business cases & forecasts, and be able to make pricing and discounting recommendations backed by sound data driven analysis.
The pricing manager will be required to understand the storage market and have a strong competitive viewpoint of customer demands. They will continuously optimize existing pricing setting and getting, all focused on driving revenue/margin growth.
This individual will be efficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including demonstrated ability to work cross functionality with Product owners, Finance and Sales Operations teams in defining and implementing pricing. The pricing manager will be comfortable presenting pricing proposals to executives for approval, adjusting plan based on feedback and collaborating with cross function teams to address concerns from other stakeholders.
As a pricing manager you will utilize statistical methods for analysis and understanding of pricing trends. Experience with statistical/analytical reporting tools is required, specifically the ability to look at a report/raw data and detect data patterns. The role requires getting your hands dirty with the data to prove or debunk your hypothesis.
Job Requirements
• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related analytical field. Master’s degree a plus.
• 8+ years combined experience in the Enterprise Storage or related (Compute or Networking) industries
• 5+ years of experience in product pricing role, ideally in the Enterprise Hardware or Software arena.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – must be comfortable speaking in public and advocating and defending positions verbally.
