Position Summary:
The Associate Research Professor will work in Dr. Andrei Sirenko’s grant funded research project. This position will be from May 2025 to August 2025.
Essential Functions:
-Designs the mount for the GHz spectroscopic system inside the Magneto-Ellipsometer at the 22-IR-2 Beamline.
-Design and implement vacuum solutions, focusing topics and electrical solutions connectors.
-Writes ActiveX (or similar) LabView drivers to integrate the GHz spectroscopic system into Ellipsometer for Magnetic Field and Low-Temperature measurements.
-Develops theory of operations for Ellipsometric measurements of the chiral uniaxial materials, such as Tellurium and Alpha-Quartz.
-Analyses the existing experimental data and performs the fits to the bi-anizotropic model for chiral parameters.
-Additional responsibilities as required by management.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Ph.D in Physics or related field.
-8-10 years of experience in working in the following systems: GHz spectroscopic system, Magneto-Ellipsometer.
-8-10 years of experience writing and utilizing ActiveX (or similar) LabView drivers.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
