The Opportunity

The Workday Payroll Analyst is a critical role within the Nutanix BizTech Workday team. You will serve as the primary Payroll Functional Consultant, ensuring that Workday is accurately configured to deliver precise data to our third‑party payroll vendors. This role is ideal for a skilled professional who can bridge the gap between complex Workday functionality and the specific requirements of payroll providers (such as ADP, Immedis, etc.).

You will play a vital role in implementing payroll setup and configuration changes in Workday, partnering closely with the Nutanix Payroll Finance team to understand their global strategy and provide expert consultation on solution enablement.



About the Team

We are responsible for the technical development and support of Workday systems, managing integrations, Extend, Integration Reports, and APIs to support HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and other enterprise functions. Our work enhances automation, optimizes workflows, and ensures data integrity, enabling businesses to manage their processes efficiently. By improving system performance and data accuracy, we help users save time, reduce manual efforts, and enhance the employee self-service experience. Our expertise in handling vendor data transfers ensures seamless, accurate, and timely information flow.


Your Role

  • Functional Consultation- Serve as the primary consultant for the Finance team (Payroll), translating business needs into scalable Workday configurations and end‑to‑end solutions
  • Configuration Ownership - Own the configuration and enhancement of key payroll elements, including External Payroll Earnings & Deductions, Pay Groups, and Pay Schedules.
  • Payroll Cycle Support - Ensure that all data elements—including demographics, compensation, and calculated fields—are synchronized accurately between Workday and external vendor systems to support bi‑weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration - Collaborate with Payroll, Global People Services, Benefits, Finance, and external payroll vendors on requirements gathering, UAT/parallel testing, enhancements, and new country rollouts.
  • Process Improvement - Drive improvements in Global Payroll productivity through automation and process innovation, delivering scalable solutions to the team.
  • Data Integrity - Use Calculated Fields and Custom Reports to support Payroll in auditing employee changes sent via PECI, ensuring 100% data accuracy for U.S. and Global payroll.

What You Will Bring

  • Workday Experience: 3+ years of hands‑on Workday experience, specifically in payroll configuration and integrations with third‑party payroll providers.
  • Analytical Expertise: 4+ years of experience in enterprise process and requirements analysis.
  • Advanced Configuration Skills: Proficiency in building custom reports, creating Calculated Fields, and working with Workday Web Services and APIs.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Ability to serve as an SME for Payroll configuration and provide guidance and training to payroll stakeholders.
  • Problem‑Solving: Strong attention to detail and the ability to excel in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
