Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Exadata Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in performance tuning to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing Oracle databases on Exadata infrastructure and optimizing database performance to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.

Manage and administer Oracle databases deployed on Exadata infrastructure.

Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle database software and Exadata systems.

Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and memory management.

Implement and maintain database security protocols and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related performance issues in a timely manner.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related projects and initiatives.

Perform capacity planning and resource utilization analysis to ensure scalability and performance optimization.

Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

As a critical role, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for our clients' mission-critical Database environments. With deep expertise across Oracle Database's core infrastructure pillars, eg, RAC, GI, Networking, ACFS, and Databases—you will be the final point of escalation for complex technical challenges. Your role will involve troubleshooting, problem resolution, and proactive guidance to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our customers' Database operations.

To manage and resolve Requests logged by customers on Database products and contribute to proactive support activities.

Owning and resolving problems and managing customer expectations throughout the Request slifecycle in accordance with global standards

Working towards, adopting and contributing to new processes and tools (diagnostic methodology, health checks, scripting tools, etc.)

Contributing to Knowledge Management content creation and maintenance

Operating within Oracle business processes and procedures

Respond and resolve customer issues within Key Performance Indicator targets

Maintaining product expertise within the team

Developing and maintaining expertise around Database Security and general IT Security issues

Maintain an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of new products released in the market for supported product

Self motivated. Able to perform duties without major monitoring

Quick learner. Efficient in reproducing test cases, and drive to resolve customer issues.

Diagnose and troubleshoot intricate issues related to Oracle Databases (other products are a plus, eg, Golden Gate, MySQL, Postgresql and MS SQL Server) including cluster configuration, performance tuning, health-checks, best practices, etc.

Perform deep-dive root cause analysis (RCA) and create detailed post-mortem reports to prevent future occurrences.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level support engineers.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, best practice guides, and knowledge base articles.

Communicate effectively with customers, managing expectations and providing clear, concise technical explanations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Minimum technical skills:

Deep knowledge how to troubleshoot complex problems.

Proficiency in Oracle database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, and security management.

Hands-on experience with Exadata features and functionalities, such as Smart Scan, Smart Flash Cache, and Storage Indexes.

Strong understanding of Oracle performance tuning methodologies and tools, including AWR, ASH, and SQL Tuning Advisor.

Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Data Guard is a plus.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

In depth knowledge of Oracle Database administration 12c, 18c, 19c (23ai is a plus)

In depth knowledge and experience in Oracle Database Cloud preferably Oracle Autonomous Database experience.

Understanding of Oracle Database Security features (such as Roles, Privileges, Auditing, TDE, Database Vault and ASO) and Database firewall

Experience of Backup and recovery process using RMAN

Experience of Oracle Data Guard

Experience in Performance Tuning

Experience of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Experience of Oracle Autonomous Database

Experience in Database Patching and Upgrades

Operating system knowledge (Linux, Windows)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field

technical experience in database administration roles

Skills and certifications (Plus):

Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Exadata, OCI and Golden Gate certifications are preferred, but not required)

Microsoft Azure Certifications - Database or Cloud in general.

Other Support Certifications – MySQL, Linux, etc.
