Principal Software Engineer (Design and Architecture)

At CX BI, we are building the next generation Oracle’s customer success management system, a pure internet system and supporting data lake. CX BI team is looking for an ambitious, talented, energetic, and self-motivated Principal Software Engineer who is having extensive hands-on experience in both Java SW development and deployment services into cloud infrastructure (DevOps).
In this role you will be immersed in and exposed to complex systems and their integration as Oracle cloud subscription data travels to multiple systems from its inception. You will be required to design and implement solutions using the latest SW development and AI technologies.
You will be part of this world class engineering team from day one and should be capable of building the entire technical stack, right from infrastructure to the end services which is highly scalable and efficient in all possible aspects.
What you will be doing
- Being part of a team, which develop and operate a cloud native solution
- Collaborate with other professionals to figure out efficient software operations processes
- Designing and building applications and SW modules which are relying on AI services and libraries
- Communicating with OCI Product Development teams in case of support or issue cases
- Designing and building DevOps capabilities on the top of OCI including environment creation (in both manual and automatic ways)
- Performing complex network configuration and administration (multi-VCN, cross-tenancy, etc.)
- Performing daily operational tasks, and participating in regular security patching process
- Improving existing code quality
- Troubleshooting various application and infrastructure issues in test and prod environments
- Working on solution design based on business requirements
- Implementing various PoCs for finding the appropriate solutions and technologies for challenging problems
- Working with Technologies and tools like: Java SDK, Kubernetes, OCI Gen AI Service, Terraform, Ansible, Bash, Python, JQ, Oracle SQL CL, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS), Git, Elastic Search, Grafana, Prometheus and many more
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development in Java
- Solid experience in DevOps Cloud native like AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI (preferred) including cloud infrastructure and networking design, implementation, and maintenance
- Ability to learn, experiment, design and implement independently
- Knowledge of DevOps best practices related cloud native application deployment and operations
- Hands-on experience in Linux systems and tooling, git, IaC/CaC tools: Terraform/Ansible
- Hands-on experience in RESTful API design
- Hands-on experience in utilizing of LLM for source code generation, OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source LLMs; familiarity with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and deployment strategies is a huge plus
Will be a plus:
- Jenkins operational perspective and implementation of jobs is a big plus
- Python, SQL (Oracle), Bash, JQ is a big plus
- Container technologies like Podman and Kubernetes from operational perspective is a big plus
- Experience in relational (e.g., Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., Elastic Search) database administration and maintenance is a plus
- MLOps , AI models (LLMs, RAG, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.), ML pipelines, NLP, and chatbot solutions is a big plus
- Rapid prototyping tools such as Streamlit or Gradio is nice to have
- Exposure to vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, etc.) is nice to have
- Familiarity with multi-agent or orchestration frameworks (AutoGen, CrewAI, MCP) is nice to have
