Software Development Senior Manager (Media)

As a Senior Manager of Software Development in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will build and lead an engineering team in the development, delivery, and operation of cloud services that enable high-scale streaming workloads to operate seamlessly on OCI. You will work with executive leadership to chart the team’s roadmap, guide strategic decisions, and ensure consistent technical delivery. You will mentor engineers, drive complex initiatives independently, and foster innovation in how OCI delivers media infrastructure and streaming products.
We’re building next-generation distributed systems in the cloud. To succeed in this role, you’ll need prior cloud experience (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP) and the ability to apply it to complex, large-scale environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of large/enterprise scale software development and engineering team management experience.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Working experience with public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or OCI), including migration, cross-cloud integration using Infrastructure-as-Code tools or product development.
- Deep technical understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, IAM, and container orchestration.
- Experience designing and delivering production-grade systems with strong reliability and observability posture. Expertise with cloud service concepts such as availability, observability, scalability, testability, recoverability, etc.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with overall software development process models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and engineering staff at all levels including the executive level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of streaming architectures including ingest, transcoding, origin, and CDN layers.
- Proven track record building or operating large-scale video platforms or delivery networks.
- Experience managing cloud migration and hybrid cloud deployments for media workloads.
- Knowledge of QoE metrics, playback telemetry, and content delivery optimization.

The OCI Media Services team is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of a new set of cloud services focused specifically on the content streaming and distribution industry. Product areas include high-scale video delivery services, high-performance infrastructure capabilities for video transcoding, AI-driven metadata generation, and end-to-end media pipeline observability systems.
