Java Platform Group is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Software Engineer to join our world class development efforts. Our team is responsible for delivering the Java platform that is used by millions of developers. We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a thorough understanding of testing methodologies, a passion for quality, a strong technical background to advance our processes, and a desire to make a positive change in our product.Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
Career Level - IC3
As a member of the JVM Quality team, you will work with the world class engineers in JVM and get to learn and test most current enhancements of Java Hotspot Virtual Machine to ensure they are of high quality. This involves complex test development and automation adhering to secure coding guidelines, writing new frameworks, bug escape analysis, regression testing and code coverage analysis. This would enable you to get a deeper understanding of JVM internals such as GC, Runtime, JIT Compilers etc. This role would involve extensive debugging/trouble-shooting across multiple platform variants and identifying product issues deep in Java/JVM code.
Required skills and knowledge:
- B Tech in a Computer Science, Software or other Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in Software Development
- Strong Core Java knowledge, basic understanding of C/C++
- Hands on experience with writing real world Java applications
- Strong expertise on concurrency, multi-threading and collections
- Experience in Java Language: Java Compiler, Java Tools, Java Language Support, Invoke Dynamic, Lambda and Annotations
- Deep Understanding of Java Internals such as Java Runtime, Hotspot Compilers, Garbage Collection, Memory Management, Virtual Threads, etc
- Strong Experience writing multi-threaded/scalable programs
- Source code control systems (Git or similar)
- Good understanding of JUnit, TestNG
- Good administration skills on Solaris/Linux/Windows/Mac
- Strong trouble-shooting and debugging skills across different platforms
- Good written and verbal English skills
Preferable skills and knowledge:
- Java Certified Programmer
- Experience working in distributed teams
- Exposure on Cloud and related technologies
