The Chief Technical Architect Office is advancing Oracle’s next-generation data center strategy by unifying digital design, physical build, and operations into a cohesive architecture. We create standards, automation, and reference designs that accelerate scale, improve quality, and enable AI-driven operations. As the Optical Fiber Architect, you will own the end-to-end optical strategy for Oracle’s global data centers—defining architectures, setting enterprise standards, and guiding deployment at scale to deliver high-performance, resilient, and cost-efficient connectivity.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $136,600 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

Establish and steward the optical fiber reference architecture for data centers, covering backbone, inter-building links, and intra-facility cross-connects.

Specify fiber media (e.g., SMF, MMF), connector ecosystems, polarity schemes, and cable plant management aligned to CTAO standards.

Create enterprise playbooks, methods of procedure (MOPs), and commissioning standards for installation, splicing, labeling, and certification.

Lead technology evaluations with suppliers; select components and solutions that meet performance, reliability, and TCO targets.

Curate the roadmap for next-gen optics and high-density solutions, informing design patterns and lifecycle plans.

Embed optical designs within structured cabling frameworks to ensure modular, repeatable, and globally consistent builds.

Review and sign off on drawings, bills of materials, schematics, and engineering packages for program deployments.

Define and oversee acceptance criteria, test regimes, and validation for newly deployed or upgraded fiber systems.

Partner with data center delivery, network engineering, and facilities to align designs with safety, compliance, and project schedules.

Serve as a technical authority for optical infrastructure across global programs, mentoring teams and enabling best practices.

Drive continuous improvement in cable plant hygiene, documentation, capacity management, and long-term maintainability.
