Oracle
We are seeking a strong System Software / Database Engineer to design, develop, and optimize core system components, SQL, extproc integrations, and Python-based frameworks used across the database stack. The role involves deep technical work in database internals, high-performance data processing, cloud-integrated services, and production-scale reliability. The engineer will collaborate across multiple teams to deliver features that power mission-critical workloads in cloud and on-prem environments.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of database internals, PLSQL/SQL execution, or data processing engines.
- Experience with systems programming, operating systems, concurrency, memory management, or performance tuning.
- Ability to design and implement reliable, production-grade software systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong programming experience in C or C++ or Python.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, cloud services, or OCI/AWS/GCP/Azure-related components
- Experience with performance analysis tools, profiling, tracing, and benchmarking.
- Familiarity with modern data formats (Parquet, ORC), bin-packing algorithms, or ETL pipelines.
- Contributions to open-source system software or database projects

Design and implement system-level software modules within the database infrastructure.
Develop new database features, and data-access APIs.
Build and enhance Python/C/PLSQL -based components, and service integrations.
Contribute to cloud-linked systems such as DBMS_CLOUD, external table frameworks, and language runtimes.
Evaluate, prototype, and improve reliability, performance, and scalability of system software.
Analyze execution paths, storage layers, and query runtime behavior to identify optimizations.
Design and maintain data processing frameworks, tooling, and automation for development and production.
Investigate and resolve complex production issues across database, OS, and cloud layers.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and long-term technical planning.
